Do you give yourself away with your body language? Can people tell when your mad or when you don’t agree with something or when you want something really bad?
Well – that might be OK sometimes, but as leaders it’s really important to be (or at least appear to be) neutral. When your body language gives you away, it can cause much bigger challenges for you.
For example, people may get needlessly concerned or upset. Or even worse, people assume what you’re thinking, they make judgments, they may take it personally or communicate on your behalf. e.g. Bob didn’t say anything in the meeting, but he clearly wasn’t in agreement with the recommendation
When you let your body communicate unconsciously, you set yourself up for problems.
So, what can you do?
